OBX 2023

My second trip to the Outer Banks was a beautiful gift to welcome me into my 40s, a reminder that life’s chapters are ever-evolving. There’s something indescribable about the way the obx soothes my soul—a place where the ocean’s rhythmic crash against the shore and the soft hues of cotton candy skies seem to quiet my mind. The landscape here is as unique as it is fleeting, with the shoreline constantly shifting, shaped by the forces of hurricanes. Houses that once stood proud just a few years ago have now been washed away, leaving only traces of their past. It’s a gentle reminder that change is inevitable, and each day offers an opportunity to embrace the present with gratitude and wonder.

I was fortunate enough to meet a local beach boy, someone who truly embodied a carefree spirit, a lover of the sand and sea. He seemed to be the very essence of the beach, and I felt incredibly grateful to have his mother’s permission to capture him in his natural element. These photos have become some of my all-time favorites.
